Open Call 2026

Ends on

Your application must include:

  • Resume/CV
  • Statement of Intent: "Place” is a pillar of our program, so please tell us how this place will impact your work. How do you plan to use your time at Good Hart Artist Residency? How will a solitary setting in remote but naturally beautiful Northern Michigan affect your work? What about this residency in particular appeals to you? (Recommended 2-3 paragraphs)
  • Community Engagement Proposal:  Community is a pillar of our program, and as a nonprofit organization we give back to our community through arts programming led by artists-in-residence. Describe your proposed arts event. What would you like to do? (workshop? nature walk? concert? group project? school program? other?) What partnering organization would you like to work with? How will you use your creativity, perspective, experience, and knowledge to spread creative ideas and/or experiences to local community members? What do you hope your audience will gain from your event?  The applicant should indicate in their proposal if there is a specific partnering organization they would like to work with; otherwise, based on the description of the proposed community event, the Good Hart Artist Residency will try to find a local non-profit partner that aligns. Note: Some time slots are reserved for specific partnerships. Please review our residency partnerships page on our website for further information. (Recommended 2-3 paragraphs)
